Loose translation

Shooting a white deer, snow flutters around the skies;
Smiling, one writes about the divine chivalrous one, leaning against bluish lovebirds or lovers.


Liang Yusheng

Liang Yusheng was credited as the pioneer of the New School of the wuxia genre in the 20th century. He was one of the best-known wuxia writers in the later half of the century, alongside Jin Yong and Gu Long.

Gu Long

Gu Long (Xiong Yaohua) was said to be influenced not only by wuxia fiction, but also by the works of Ernest Hemingway, Jack London, John Steinbeck and Friedrich Nietzsche. His novels are usually made up of short sentences and paragraphs, and mostly dialogues between characters – like a play script.

Woon Swee Oan

Wen Rui’an is a Hong Kong-based Malaysian poet and writer of wuxia novels. From 1990 to 1998, Woon ventured into the mainland Chinese market and spent most of his time in China. Some of his best known works include Jingyan Yi QiangBuyi Shenxiang, and Si Da Ming Bu, which have been adapted into television series The Four and Face to Fate, and the film The Four, among others.

Huang Yi

Hong Kong writer Wong Cho-keung combined science fiction with traditional Chinese culture (metaphysics, philosophy, etc.) to create a new style of work. Wong commented that he would like to follow in the footstep of Louis Cha.

Jozev Kiu

Kiu Ching-Fu is a Hong Kongese wuxia novelist, lyricist and Eskrima coach. His magnum opus, Blood and Steel, had received widespread acclaim and Kiu is regarded as one of the leading figures of the post-Jin Yong Hong Kong Wuxia fiction genre.
